AlphaGo – The Movie | Full award-winning documentary

„AlphaGo” is a documentary film about the historic match between the artificial intelligence (AI) program AlphaGo and the world champion Go player Lee Sedol. Go is a board game that originated in China more than 2,500 years ago and is considered to be one of the most complex board games in existence.
The film chronicles the development of the AlphaGo program by DeepMind, a British AI company owned by Google, and its journey to compete against Lee Sedol, a legendary Go player from South Korea. The match took place in March 2016 and was a best-of-five series. The AI program won the first three games, shocking the Go world and cementing its place in history as the first AI program to defeat a human world champion in a full-length match.
„AlphaGo” is not just a story about a historic match, but also a deep dive into the world of AI and machine learning. It explores the possibilities and implications of AI, and the potential impact it can have on society in the future. The film was directed by Greg Kohs and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2017.
